Sylvester - rumours galore
One of the most talked about competitors right now is self-confessed bad boy Sylvester Sim.
According to the people we spoke to reckoned the self-professed rocker isn't versatile enough during the competition.
One regular Singapore Idol viewer Ping Lee reckoned, "He doesn't have the range of Taufik and Olinda. Just about every song he tackles sounds the same. It was almost monotonous!"
Another audience regular who did want to be named was even more blunt: "If not for the legions of teenage girls, Sylvester would be out ages ago."
Naturally, his fans are quick to come to his defence. Said one enthusiastic follower: "I tell you... I almost got a heart attack again when Sly is in the unsafe group on Thursday. I was worried sick. I cannot see Sly get the boot with my own eyes else I surely cannot take it. I hope the day will never come!"
But what's really making him the talk of Idol punters is the Sylvester themed rumours that has been swirling non-stop.
Like the Sylvester and Maia story, for instance.
One little birdie told us that alleged couple were seen "holding hands and kissing at a bus interchange in the east of Singapore".
Last week, one magazine reported that Sylvester left a movie premiere in a hurry to "meet a friend" only to be spotted with Maia around the corner an hour later.
Latest rumours even suggest that Sly's been acting cute to get the teenage girls' votes!
While Sylvester has yet to publicly comment on these rumours, one observer says all this doesn't mean Sylvester is a "media whore".
He added: "These reports are unconfirmed. As long as Sylvester doesn't say anything, let's take it with a pinch of salt. Personally, I'd put all it down to overzealous fans who'd do anything to see their favourite Idol get on top!"
