As i was reading the reader's digest i came across a particular article, The Healing of Dr Mayoyo, which is really touching.
Dr Richard Mayoyo, an african doctor, a neurosurgeon, was paralysed because he got accidentally shot by a bullet fired at robbers by a shop owner. I got teary when the article mentioned abt him going through his recovery period in the hospital where he used to work at. His colleagues, 'doctors, nurses, admin staff and even the patients lined the corridors as he was wheeled to the ward. They were weeping and praying for him.'
He knows that if he cant continue to be a neurosurgeon, he will lose his will to live. Hence he is determined to pull himself together and go back to work. While some questioned 'can a paralysed man still be neurosurgeon?' 'People are seeing his wheelchair not his hands'.. its really disheartening but Dr Mayoyo is very determine to get back to work. He worked very hard for the therapy to improve his finger coordination.
Eventually he can once again stepped into the op. theatre and performs surgery. Its Dr Mayoyo's determination and positive spirit that created this miracle. Also the surrounding people who never gives up on him and encourages him that makes him even more positive over his will. Dr Mayoyo said 'there is no close door in life. When one door closes, new ways open. Everybody needs help to open these new doors.'
